For the past nine summers, we’ve been sharing the joy of Beach Yoga in beautiful Lavallette, and we’d love for you to become part of our vibrant community. As a small, locally owned business led by two dedicated women yogis, we’re honored to bring connection, movement, and mindfulness to the Jersey Shore.
At Breathe Life Sangha we are dedicated to creating an inviting space on the Lavallette Beach, where all levels of practitioners can experience the healing powers of yoga by the sea. From revitalizing morning beach yoga and meditative evening Yin Yoga practices, to the healing, transformative vibrations of sound healing, we guide our community toward balance, peace, and connection. We welcome everyone—from beginners to seasoned yogis—and also offer individual and group private lessons to support personal growth and deeper practice. Our intention is to nurture body, mind, and spirit while honoring the Yogic traditions and the natural beauty of the shore.
Regina Pietersen is a 500-hour certified yoga instructor (E-RYT 500, YACEP) with extensive training in Vinyasa, Hatha, and Bhakti Yoga. She completed her advanced training at the Himalayan Institute in Pennsylvania and holds specialized certifications including Buddha Body Yoga with Michael Hayes and Ropes & Slings with Alison West, a renowned Iyengar teacher.
Regina offers classes ranging from beginner to intermediate levels, with a focus on alignment, breath awareness, and accessibility for all body types. She is currently pursuing an 800-hour Yoga Therapy certification with Breathing Deeply Yoga Therapy and is also a Level II Reiki practitioner. In addition to yoga and energy work, Regina is a certified sound healer and offers crystal bowl sound baths as part of her holistic approach to wellness. These immersive sound experiences are designed to support deep relaxation, energetic balance, and inner harmony.
Regina first turned to yoga to support her triathlon training and manage stress. The physical, mental, and emotional benefits she experienced inspired her to share yoga as a powerful tool for well-being. Her teaching is grounded, compassionate, and breath-centered—designed to help students connect deeply with both mind and body.
Gabrielle Brokaw is an RYT200 Registered Yoga Teacher (200-Hour, Yoga Alliance). She completed this training with Regina Pietersen of Breathe Life Sangha in 2019. She holds certification in Trauma-Informed Yoga through the Prison Yoga Project, is a certified Y12SR Peer Support Guide, with additional training in Yin Yoga and Self Myofascial Release through Gabrielle Harris Yoga.
Currently, Gabi shares yoga and meditation with residents at Jersey Shore Medical Center’s in-patient psychiatric unit, students at KEYS Academy (Recovery High School), and adults and adolescents in treatment at Pyramid Healthcare/High Focus. She also serves with The Phoenix, a "Sober Active Community" where she leads yoga, mindfulness, and sound healing sessions, support new members, and connects volunteers to opportunities for service.
As a Yoga facilitator and community builder dedicated to making the practice of yoga, mindfulness, and meditation accessible to everyone. Her work centers around bringing trauma-sensitive, healing practices to people navigating recovery, mental health challenges, and underserved communities.
Whether teaching on the beach, in a treatment center, or working with students one on one, her mission remains the same: to offer safe, supportive, and accessible yoga practices that create space for healing, growth, and connection.

We suggest bringing a beach blanket or large towel to practice on. A yoga mat is not necessary and can sometimes be more challenging due to wind. Bring water to drink and sunglasses as needed. Although the sun is not as strong at that time, sunscreen is always a good idea outdoors.
